I found this challenge by Brian at Bushboy’s World via Su at Zimmerbitch and thought it was cool so decided to contribute.

Brian’s challenge rules:
- Post the last photo on your SD card or last photo on your phone for the 31st January.
- No editing – who cares if it is out of focus, not framed as you would like or the subject matter didn’t cooperate.
- You don’t have to have any explanations, just the photo will do
- Create a Pingback to this post or link in the comments
- Tag “The Last Photo”
What a cool last shot Darren 🙂 I love spiders. A small one but I bet a bite would hurt a bit

I love them too Brian. This species normally lives in houses during winter. They are afraid of nothing. Bite is fairly painless but my wife was bitten or stung by something whilst we were clearing the wood store and had a bad reaction. It might have been a spider or possibly a hibernating wasp.

House trained spiders are good to have as a natural insecticide. I don’t like it when I get bitten by an unknown just hope it isn’t poisonous

Thankfully in the UK we don’t have much lethal wildlife. These house spiders are very welcome in our house and one lives under our TV most of the year.

Very cool Darren. Spiders get such bad press but I love them too. To be fair though, I’ve never been bitten by one.

Thank you, and me neither. So far! I have little fear with animals so it is likely to happen eventually.

I am not a spider sort. I almost didn’t look at this post, but I’m glad I did. Insect sorts of creatures that are small and fast, might fly, and have lots of legs (more than two) terrify me a bit. OK, more than a bit. Oddly, the kid has had collections of things that I’ve allowed in the house. I loved the cricket we kept for a summer.

Thank you for braving it Kris! I think most mums manage to hide their revulsion when teenage boys are attracted to bugs etc!

My two started out loving bugs when they were small-I look back and wonder, but you must be right! lol

Is that a Wolf Spider? I’ve mostly made my peace with spiders (apart from huge house spiders which I’m fine with as long as they don’t run at me) but the ones I absolutely love are the little zebra jumping spiders. I allow them to live on my windowsill though sometimes I escort them outside… 🙂
How are you? Are you doing okay? I’ve been away from my blog for a long time and not reading posts.

It is a house spider I think. I love those little zebra jumping spiders too!
I am ok thank you. Was working from home but have taken holiday this week. Are you ok?

Looks a bit too pale for a house spider, though there are different kinds I know. 🙂 Yes, I’m fine at the moment, thanks. Am staying indoors.

Glad you are OK. I just agreed to go in to work for a day or two next week provided we can get permission from the powers-that-be. Solo lab work is usually frowned upon but needs must.

I love the spider, Darren. We run a very spider-friendly household here.

That is impressive in Aus Tracy! I have seen footage of your fearsome spiders and heard stories!

Only the funnel web gives me the creeps. Most are reclusive.

OOH that’s a big un. I don’t mind spiders as long as they remain still haha. Cool pic though Darren. Hope you are well 🙂 Have a great weekend x

Thank you Gill. I like spiders, though I agree they are a bit less unnerving when still. Doing ok here and hope you are likewise? 😍
