My lovely and talented friend Sarah (see day 1 for link) started this challenge.
I am going to do this the way Sarah did – a song every day and with a few lines about why I like each artist and song, and why it is significant for me. I am as much about the music as the words by the way, so I have to like both if I include a song.
Please feel free to join in this challenge with your own lists!
‘Atomic’ by Blondie
The punk era largely passed me by but like any teenage boy with a pulse I had a thing for Blondie’s Debbie Harry. That their music was great is a bonus too! A ‘Best of’ album is in the stack next to the player in the room where I draw. The opening riff of ‘Atomic’ arose from a quite deliberate but light-hearted attempt to emulate the sound of a spaghetti western theme.
Flipping through the stations the other day, I heard Blondie. Hadn’t heard it in years π Hugs my friend π

And big hugs right back Lisa π
One of the few bands of that era I liked at the time.

My fave Blondie song is Hanging on the Telephone. I liked them a lot until about 1982, ie only their early days.

The earlier stuff was definitely better I agree.

Gotta love Blondie. Saw her, the Ramones, and Tom Tom Club (Talking Heads minus David Byrne.) What a show.

I think there was a time when all the boys I knew wanted Debbie Harry and all the girls (including g me) wanted to be her.
